I am a Lecturer in World Literatures in the Department of English at the University of Bristol, U.K. I work on African literature and the environment, focusing on histories of ecological thinking, and how climate change is currently being imagined in African writing and film. Before my current post, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Johannesburg, South Africa and worked at the University of the Witwatersrand Institute for Social and Economic Research. I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of California, Los Angeles. Currently, I live and work Bristol, U.K., and continue to write and research in Johannesburg and Gaborone, Botswana.
